Series 2b forward Control question
« on: September 04, 2019, 07:38:57 PM »

A mate is thinking of converting a series3 109 chassis to a 2b forward Control, is this do-able, what problems do you envisage?
Does anyone have the chassis diamentions for a 2b forward Control chassis?
Cheers

I think it is possible especially if the original chassis is still there to rob bits from and take dimensions.
Land Rover did start with a standard chassis then add the frame on top as far as I know. The spring hangers may be longer and a few extra brackets here and there but could be done I guess.

I have a book at home for the 2A / 2B forward control models. I think it's a parts manual rather than workshop but I'll have a look if there are any chassis drawings in it.

Craig.

Something niggles at the back of my mind.  2B chassis are different from 2A  forward control chassis.   I think the 2B is 110 inch as opposed to 2a being 109.
