Also, the extra weight should be enough to pull the suspension down so that it will fit through the garage door...

Alec

Fit 12" rims and and it will be low enough to limbo  :tiphat

Hi,

Was it somebody called John Dodds, who dropped a Merlin engine into a Rolls Royce car chassis?
(2000bhp ???)  Gearbox from a tank ... or something like that. ???

There are two that I know of:
https://www.classicdriver.com/en/article/cars/john-dodd-and-merlin-engined-monstrosity-infuriated-rolls-royce
minus the superchargers, and

If somebody has a spare one knocking about, I'll stick it into a Series II for you.

Chris.

Chris.

They turn up at auction occasionally. There was one in full working order sold last year. Prices are not much higher than a full spec. electric conversion.

You might need to uprate the brakes a bit though  :agh

Meteor engine, similar but a tank engine derived from the Merlin III
~600hp verses ~1000hp from the Merlin
Reworking obsolete, rejected for Merlin or crash recovered parts and using less exotic materials and BTH magnetos.

Still, quite sufficient for  W602's Freelander.  :coffee
