1970's hill rally vehicles?
« on: October 24, 2020, 09:22:04 PM »

Having just acquired another very long term project in the form of a 1962 88" which was modified for hill rallying in the mid 1970's and rallied extensively until 1983 I'd be interested to hear of any other surviving series with a known period rally history.

I'm guessing they are probably few and far between considering the hammering they endured.

Cheers,

Matt.

You could look through the early S2C Newsletters from 1985 onwards.
The club was heavily into trialing in those days, you never know, there may be some rally car stuff ???

The only one I can think of at the moment is Brian Bashall's S11 which Dunsfold restored last year. I am sure there are some S1s out there and of course Dunsfold also restored the early Range Rover that won the event as well.
