Hi,

I don't know what I'm talking about, but that has never stopped me previously ...

... wouldn't the easiest answer be to fit "coil-over-shox", but still keeping the leaf springs?

OK, I suppose it depends on the clearance between the chassis, and what "air-space" the spring would occupy.

Somewhere in Photobucket, I have a photos of my Reliant Scimitar GTE "coil over shocker", both before and after fitting new coils. Compressing the new extra strong springs, using spring clamps (or whatever they are called) was scary. But if you are retaining the original leaf springs to do most of the work, the coils can probably be less strong.

Coil-over-Shox? Visulise motor-cycle rear suspension, but without the tubular enhancements.

"Swampy2" on the old forum had a set up like this on his blue 2a 88" 'Ken' (KNN something). It used a quarter elliptical leaf spring, along with the coil spring brackets very similar (if not identical) to those posted here. I seem to remember he sold the motor so no idea where it is now. ???

I remember reading about fitting of that kit in the 80s / 90s by the then owner. From memory that was completely bolt on, where this conversion has the lower cups welding to the bottom of the casing.
