They also had carpets which used to rot spectacularly and stank more than a wet spaniel...

I thought my '66 109 5 door was a county station wagon.?

No counties before 1982. It's a trim level, not a body style.

However...
Our former colonial cousins did have certain LR models supplied branded as County when we didn't... For example, we built a Range Rover Classic County and a County LWB for NAS markets (SE and LSE to us).

:fire. got it.  I was thinking of the '87 110.  I did realize it was a trim level.  My heritage certificate calls the '66 "station wagon".  Again, referring to trim level?

No, station wagon is the body type. Tropical roof, alpine lights, sliding side windows, deluxe bonnet, and extra side doors on the 109". Until 1982 they all had the same trim level, you just chose if you wanted trim or not on a utility, I'm pretty sure it was standard on a station wagon.

Stage 1's are gas guzzlers on cart springs.

Whereas Stage 2 V8's are gas guzzlers on coils.

And thus much better! :neener

And V8's like this Stage 2 can still shift, when loaded with two Series gearboxes and other paraphernalia.
