Just did mine.  Should I paint the steering arms black  or leave as is?

It was handy having spare housings to make on the bench to swap onto the Rover.

My Dad (a retired old school Mechanic and Sparky) decided to gently torque up the kingpin with no shims until the correct spring balance weight reading was achieved.  The space between the housing and pin was measured using feeler gauges and a micrometere. The resultant width was used to make up a shim pack again using the micrometre to check.

Shim pack used to assembled the swivel housing.  I thought it was a genius solution and it only took minutes to do each side.

And yes, the result was tested again after the final torque of all the nuts before bending up the locking tabs.
