Help!!!
« on: August 10, 2021, 08:05:16 PM »

I know this isn't Land Rover related but I wonder how if anyone can help.
I have an Android 1 phone and recently unwanted  "files" are appearing. These are things like Tennis:ogg, Calm:ogg and many other oggs. I delete them and within a short time they reappear without my knowingly doing anything.
Being mechanical and having a very limited knowledge of computers and their working I wonder if anyone can explain to me in words of one syllable what on earth these are and how do I get rid of them for good. Have I inadvertently done something to warrant their return?
It started a few days ago.

On my desktop I Googled the query 'OGG files on Android'.
From the returns the following link provided the clearest answer, and gave a suggestion about avoiding the problem in the future.
Gmail is auto-downloading .ogg files on phones & here's why.
You will see that the article is very recent.

You may need some further help, but the article provides a foundation layer of understanding.

Regards.

Thanks Davidss. Now I know why I can get someone to help me uninstall these unwanted oggs.
For the moment I'll leave them there and ignore them as they don't take up much space.

I've sent a message via Gmail feedback requesting that these unwanted downloads don't come back once deleted.
Fat chance I reckon.
