I think location as county is fine for all public viewing, gives a fellow enthusiast in Devon an idea that I’m not an easy local collection for bits, but someone in Nottinghamshire might be within a steady run out, at least gives an idea for a relay! pm service is for further detail as and when required......
I think whatever people are happy to disclose works best, but something is better than nawt  :shakeinghead

As a Yorkshireman on missionary duty in Lancashire I need people to know where I am if the natives get restless.

You can take a man out of Yorkshire but you can't take Yorkshire out of the man

Funnily enough, that's why I'm in Yorkshire! However, I'm close enough to Derbyshire to escape....

Hi,

My Dad was born in Middlesborough., but headed South in 1929.

A few years ago, he heard a recording of himself ... "I sound like Harvey Smith!"

My mother (nee Ramsey) could not understand how everybody knew she was from Scotland.  ??? Born in Glasgow, but I've been told she had a Ayrshire accent.

It would be better if you were closer it would save me a lot of money getting parts for my 1966 GMC Stepside pickup

PS,

I started driving before the MOT was invented. and TPO insurance cost less than a tenner. I think at one very short point, JET petrol was four shillings (£0.20) a gallon.

Remember now ... learners who had held a provisional licence for a month could drive without being accompanied ... and for quite a while after the canal was re-opened. What would you have done when that concession ended? I just took the L-plates off. One lesson with BSM, in a mk.2 Ford Consul, took and passed my test in a 1935 Austin 10 with no brakes (it only had three brake drums, but that's another story.

A year later, I took/passed the test again, in an RAF 3-ton truck, mixing it with the trams in Blackpool. Austin Lodestar! (Loadster?)

Mine says Perthshire, which is what the proper maps say. In between its been "Central Region" and now the quill-drivers say we are in Stirling. But this is still Perthshire.

Word association, when you mention Perthshire the first thing I think of is Kinross.

I'm at shudders.mute.laptops which seems kind of appropriate.

I have it on my phone.
Already it has lead to the rescue of a motorist who crashed into a field in our county.
