Back to the joker.... the grille and badge could possibly fetch about £150, plus a bit for the AA badge. Add about £10 for clock bits and plywood and you could get to maybe £200 parts costs. Add £50 for an hour of assembly time and the markup isn't particularly OTT.

Sales problem might well be that anyone who might want one could probably make it themselves from "the pile".

Did Land Rover ever make a "panel" to carry a clock on the dashboard.

I have the 2in clock from a scrapped Volvo and a similar sized voltmeter in the "auxiliary" panel that would once have held 2 ammeters, when Tonka was a 24v radio vehicle. No chopping about required, they are a perfect fit, wired via a fused connection to the "permanent live" inspection light socket. Choice of hundreds of 52mm/2 in gauges available on Ebay and the other sites.
