Elf and Sayfty will have kittens, using the winch to lift the front up to work underneath!!

I didn't know that they went that fast!!

Great film

Good luck

If you haven't seen this film, you really should.

A cross between Daktari and Benny Hill so the comedy is not for everyone, but the scenes with the Series 1 are well worth watching. I especially liked the bit where he is trying to open the gate whilst trying to stop the Landy rolling off down the road.

I now understand "how did the land Rover end up in the tree"......

Good luck

It is a fantastic film.
I managed to find it on DVD and still sit down occasionally with a beer to watch it all again. Never fails to make me laugh.  :cheers
(I watched it the evening after I got my series one station wagon dragged back to my house)

Thanks, I laughed my head off.  I had forgotten how funny the Series 1 scenes were.

Hi,

Try asking Google to screen old films on your PC ... or even excerpts from those films.

I recently asked Google to screen Orpheus in the Underworld, which I first saw in an RAF TV lounge, in the early 1960. There was "muttering in the ranks" during the first few minutes ... until dawn broke, after which we all watched in rapt silence.

I think if I tried to explain how dawn broke, Alan would have to censor this mail.

After years of begging, Barbara eventually bought me Orpheus for Xmas just gone.  :cheers

PS. Orpheus and his mother wanted to go to the underworld, to bring Orpheus' wife back from the dead, so his mother summoned her balloon.  ??? The balloon pilot was wearing full WW2 fighter pilot clothing ... leather jacket with fur collar, flying helmet, goggles, etc. But when he opened the door into the balloon's basket, he revealed a short toga skirt and sandals without socks.

Hi,

Lets see if I can describe Dawn Breaking in Orpheus in none censorable terms.

The gods were asleep on Mount Olympus, then Arrorra (sp?) flew in and landed. She had an unlit car spot lamp fixed to her head, and a pull-cord attached to one of her "lady bits".
She pulled the cord, and the spot light illuminated. Dawn had broken!

Silence broke out in the TV room.

Regarding the S1 and the gate scene, mentioned ... I remember seeing that film clip in the same RAF TV lounge, at about the same time as the above film, but didn't know it's name. Thankyou. That's one Xmas present sorted.
