reassembly
« on: October 26, 2019, 11:58:32 AM »

after 5 years of being parted I have rejoined the gear box to the engine, kept the g/box on my engine crane angled it a tad, did the same with the engine, aligned the spigot as best I could bit of  jiggery and it slipped on like the proverbial seaboot! one of those jobs I had kept putting off as I was doing it alone.

Questions, I may have asked this moons ago but I'm afraid age and senility sets in.
Engine shows a plate reading --factory rebuilt--KO518/00/00 --525007/1
Gearbox factory rebuilt--K20433--607125R.
is it possible to ascertain from these numbers when they may have been rebuilt?

On another tack are black rubber bands available which sit behind the instruments when mounted in the dash or do we have to improvise any one know?

thanks and kind regards

Your have a factory reconditioned engine and gearbox.

I'm afraid as far as we know there were no records keep of what was what - or they have long since gone and no one today has a clue what the numbers mean  :'(

A posted, you can buy strings of O-ring and make your own.
One of the more useful uses of Superglue is that it sticks O-ring material together rather well  :first
