Mystery plate

Morning folks. Having a garage sortout and found this plate. It is damaged on the left, but anyone know what it's for? It probably  came with the land rover. Cheers Lee

It looks like a door latch mounting plate to me.

Yes thanks David. I can see it now from a whole door lock. Weird that someone has drilled out rivets and just left the plate. As the locks are so cheap whole I’ll be filing it in the take to tip pile.
