Hi,

As mentioned previously (and recently) Barnara was side swiped by the tail-gate of an articulated truck, which smashed the fuse box under the bonnet, taking out all her lights. She managed to phone me it's registration, before turning back at the next intersection.

She spied a police-car perched on it's observation post above the motorway, so pulled in for advice. The advice was to call out Recovery, as she had no lights.

Plod uttered a mighty oath when Britannia joined them 20 minutes later.

My son got chatting to his Recovery driver ... was told that Britannia had the lowest subs, but paid the recovery firms the most. But that was a long time ago.

I have heard it muted that the traditional players will try very hard to send one of their "liveried" recovery trucks, before offering the job to a privateer. Barbara blew the engine of  her MG 1500, on the M4, used the police telephone. Nothing happened, so she phoned again, but the operator refused to accept a second call. So much for being a single woman, sitting on the hard-shoulder, in an open-top sports car.

It took two hours for the liveried recovery truck to arrive.
