My friend did something similar with his car. Called the police and everything. He had just forgotten where he'd parked it  :-X Brilliant

Yep, wrong floor of the multi-story carpark, I was sure it was the second floor and parked next to this red Volvo estate, walked down to the carpark office to report it stolen (in the days when these places were manned) and saw another red Volvo estate with my Golf hiding behind it..... Doh!  :thud

Taking it to an extreme, I was once sat next to a bloke on an airport car-park bus, who was looking very intently at all the cars as we toured around. He explained that his boss had, weeks earlier, "parked  at the airport". No ticket and could not remember where, was even a bit hazy about which airport....  He'd been set the task of finding the car.

I was once sent up into a multi story car park to pick up a car for a car rental company. I found the car, unlocked the door and brought it down to our office on the ground floor only to be told that that wasn't our car... Same colour, model, key number, just not ours...
I returned it quickly...

We were at Disney in Florida, we arrived a 6.30 pm for a night of fun with the kids. On the ride from the car park there was a German tourist looking for his white car. For those of you who don't know the car park at the time held 15,000 cars., He was still looking when we left after midnight.

I have been known to walk round at work pressing the key fob to find the next car for an MOT, they all look the same now days.

Many many years ago I left work on my lunch break and drove into town. And then, forgetting I had brought the car I just walked back to work, still not realising what I had done.

At days end I thought it had been stolen until I realised what I had done and so I trudged back into town before driving home. I was too embarrassed to tell anyone.

I think that all this proves that none of the users of this forum are safe to be let out on their own.
Perhaps somebody should be told...

When I was a kid, we came out of the supermarket to find my dad's brown Renault 4 missing. There was another brown Renault 4 close to the empty space. A police car passed by (you wouldn't get that these days would you?) so we flagged it down. Soon after, a call came over the police radio that a local man had just driven home and realised he had the wrong car, so old bill gave us a lift to pick it up. The man actually admitted that he had just left the pub before driving home but old bill was not in the least concerned. Those were the days!  :skol :RHD

Diffwhine, I don't think you were on the forum quite a while ago (on the old forum) when someone put up an online Aspergers test.

Large numbers of us took it.

Guess what it showed....... :agh
