I think that today’s Arc may be a slight overreaction.
Rain here this morning lasted all of ten minutes, I don’t think it even hit the downpipes.

Nothing at all here. The Guesscast was wrong as usual. There's supposed to be "life threatening" floods tomorrow somewhere.

Hoofing it down here all day, very wet indeed underfoot, lots of puddles - a complete change to yesterdays run out, hot and dusty... None of the promised Thunder or Lightning tho.

Last night (Sunday - Monday) in Eastern Central Scotland we had virtually continuous thunder, lightning and rain. The rain hasn't really stopped all day today, occasionally very heavy, but no more thunder. Looks wet again tomorrow too.......

Hi,

It rained twice a year at RAF Sharjah (a desert aerodrome) a few miles from Dubai, but it made up for that by sheer quantity.

Fresh water! Not the salt water that fed the shower block.

Visualise about a hundred naked blokes, each clutch a bottle of shampoo (soap doesn't work in salt water) having a shower in the fresh water. The nearest white woman would have been in Aden, about 1000 miles to the South. The local women would have been kept well away from the camp ... apart from Macknoon (sp?) (crazy) Mary, who worked on a building site in Dubai, wearing only baggy shorts and flip flops.

We had a heavy shower hear near Barmouth yesterday morning which layed the dust, but little else. At least the temperature is somewhat more bearable now!.

Living in the middle of a forestry plantation a regular chore this time of year is checking there's no one camping in the public car park provided for walkers. In spite of obvious "no camping" signs there are always a few who try it on each year, usually lighting a fire or disposable barbeque.

We've seen a couple of major fires, fortunately the wind has been in our favour every time, if it wasn't a fire would roll over this place.

A very heavy shower about 10.30am. It didn't last long, just as well because I had to replace the short flexible fuel line from the tank to the lifter (Tdi) pump. Fortunately the motor factors on the nearby industrial estate had some. Now sorted.

Not even a drop of rain here yet, nor any thunderstorms. A bit cooler though.

Another heavy shower here. I hope I'm preaching to the converted but don't forget that road surfaces will be slippery now after the long dry period.
