I would like to post some photos of my restoration but have no idea how to do it. I use an IPad 2 and don’t have a laptop. I did get some instructions before on the old forum but never got round to it so will be a bit more organised this time.

Hi,
What he said, but including Photobucket pics.
But answer his question first ... I might not be here.

Couldn't be easier from an iPad.
I don't use Photobucket.

Compose your forum message.
(1) Select "Attachments and other options"
(2) Select the "Browse" option and you get a "popup" window with 3 choices: Take a Photo or Video, Photo Library or Browse.
Assuming your pictures are in your Photo Library - make that selection and choose your picture.
Then close the posting off as normal.
Please practise in the Forum Testing area.
Looks like I'm going to have to make some house calls...

Hi Wittsend,
Thanks for that.
I used to be able to do it. Dead easy. But then my desk-top died, and I'm now on lap-tops, which seems to be a different kettle of fish.
I wonder how I did it? :stars

Here's a quick pictorial how I do it.
1) Find your online picture. Select and Copy its URL.
2) Initiate a Reply, and click the "insert image" icon. It writes the IMG "tags" I circled.
3) Paste your URL in between the "tags" and click "Post".

If I remember correctly, when using the "Attachments and other options" feature it is necessary to put any text onto the post prior to attaching the picture (as already stated) as I don't think you can put any text on afterwards like you could with photobucket. At least that's the way I seem to remember it being on the old site. No doubt I will be corrected if this is wrong :-\ Using the Attachments and other options facility, for me anyway, is much less of a faff than using an outside photo library, and it doesn't cost anything :first

Yes you need to add text otherwise it's seen as a blank post as pictures added as "additional options" aren't really part of the post as such.

That’s great folks will give it a go. Wittsend your working overtime for me today .

:-\
To clarify:
You can't just post up an image using the "Attachments and other options" method.
It needs some text in the post box...
However - it matters not which way round you do it.
Browse for and select your picture, then enter text.
OR
Enter some text and then browse for your picture.
Plenty of space in the Forum Testing area :cheers

I notice that some people are able to put up larger photos than the ones I get when using the attachment option.
How do they do that?
And is there a method of inserting photos in the text, rather than only at the bottom of a post?
Many thanks.

Yes, I think we showed this on a recent post ...
You need to use the "image" tags....
(which is how I implanted this screen image)
They are here on the post menu bar..
Select the picutre button and these image tags appear in your post.
You then paste (or type) the URL of your picture between the tags.
And this is the result:-

So is this working on Firefox when a linked image is on a non-secure site now?
That was a problem with the new (secure) forum ???
