Hi Kev,

I could just about not vomit with a mouthful of tapioca (sp?), but when it all came in one homogenous mass, that was too much to bear.  Semolina required half a gallon of strawberrry jam.

At primary school (age 4, with doodlebugs flying overhead) school dinner always included some foul tasting stull, but looked like uncooked wet rice.  Some 70 years later, I realised that it was potatoes put through the hand  minced, no salt, and not thoroughly cooked.

Under-cooked badly mashed potato served from an icecream scoop - yuck!

It went nicely with spam and stewed beetroot.  :)

We tried to test the specific gravity of custard at school, but couldn't get it out of the jug.

Fish pie was the worst. They announced in the morning when it was on the menu, that any waste shouldn't be put with everything else in the normal slops bucket, as the pigs couldn't eat it. (they expected us to though)

Of the 1950's school meals semolina was the worst followed by Stockbridge Flan (primary school was in Stockbridge, Hants), a dreadful cheese flan thingy . I hated cheese then and still do.
