I've got heated Defender seats but they are a bit low powered. They come on for a while but must have some kind of timer in them because they then go off. Anyone else find this?
I'd love to swap in the heating elements from my wife's (BMW) Mini convertible. They get so hot you have to turn them down yourself.

The irony of it all ..... having robbed an MX5 some years back of its heated seats I now own an MX5 in addition to my other vehicles.

Anyway the previous remark about super hot BMW Mini seats made me smile ... my MX5 seat only ever gets set to No1 as any more is too hot for me though having said that my wife who is a " freezer " sets hers to No5 ( max setting ) and never complains of cold even in the darkest wetest and coldest days of winter.

Heated seats are the bees knees  :first

Never know you need them until you get a car with them.

Mine are really good.
The passenger seat keeps the fish & chips extra warm until I get home  :essen

I think you may have misunderstood my post.

The heated seats are in my modern car, not Land Rover.

I fitted an aftermarket kit (this kind of thing - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/164082891403) to my MGB many years ago and it's still working perfectly.  Take the seats out, remove the covers, stick the pads in, wire it up, refit the seats.  Half a day of effort enabling comfortable top down motoring all year round.

And just found my 2015 forum post about it!

The Exmoor Trim hi back seats in my Series 3 are warm all year round without the need for battery sapping unnecessaries.
I agree with Oilstain.
