Bristol area camp 14-17 September
« on: April 15, 2023, 06:02:51 PM »

Bristol Area of the Series 2 Club – camping weekend, 14th-17th September 2023.

Flushed with the success of the S2C Rally in 2022, we in Bristol have decided to repeat something similar again this year. Taking account of the other local camping weekends, it will be held in September.

Location Petruth Paddocks – Cheddar BS27 3FS, the same location as the 2022 National Rally.

1)   Thursday – Nothing planned. Arrive & chill out.
2)   Friday – Laning day
3)   Saturday – Laning day, also the reverse steer may be back from its travels.
4)   Group BBQ Saturday night - £5 towards this collected on Thursday.
5)   Sunday – Chill out/Pack up.

The rest of the time we shall be doing as we please which will mainly involve lazing around, drinking beer and perhaps looking under the bonnet of a few Land Rovers. Participants are more than welcome to take themselves off for some gentle scenic driving locally if none of the above takes your fancy. The seaside isn’t far away!

If there are sufficient numbers (minimum 15), may be able to arrange a tour of Cheddar Ales brewery just next door.

Please book direct with the campsite (for one person in a tent on grass fee currently £15 per night), mention Series Two Club when booking, just state the same group name (Series Two Club) in the Group name box during the booking process. This means we should all be able to camp together. There are six electric hook up pitches, available on first come, first served basis. For those unable/unwilling to camp, Petruth also has the option of shepherd’s huts.

Please also contact one of the organizers to say you are coming ([email protected]) so we have an idea of numbers.

All will be welcome, you don’t even have to turn up in a Land Rover!
OS Explorer 155, 141 & 142 are useful to bring.

(looks like my original post about this has been purged)
