My old-school mechanical genius-guru-friend Robin used to tell me to look online for the (usually Land Rover but also Volvo) part he needed to keep my decrepit Fleet* mobile, and "if you find one....... get two".
*Incongruous how the word "fleet" also means fast.

I have been known to buy tools twice or even 3 times usually becaus eone of my sons has borrowed them and surprise surprise not returned them when I need them.  I alway get the same answer when the inquisition starts.  "Oh ithought I had brought it back".  When they do eventually return them they are the tools they never want to borrow again

As for land rover parts, I often end up buying the same part more than once because I have forgotten that I have bought it the first time.
