We all know what thought did.
« on: April 03, 2020, 09:49:00 AM »

Hi,

Mister Thought thought that he had, but he hadn't.

I thought I had posted a query, asking the diameter of the spigot on the end of the gearbox primary/clutch shaft.  "No answer!" was the stern reply. But ... I can't find my question either. Hmm! I'm certain that I drafted the question.

So ... I need to know the diameter of the spigot, so I can finish drawing my gearbox spinner.

Anybody? Pretty please!

Thanks all,

Haven't lost it? DVLA gave me a Medical Retirement ... because the Top Shrink in South Wales said I was "losing it".

One of the sub-shrinks told me I had an MQ of 140. He seemed to find it amusing, said he had to manage on only 65. So I asked why I couldn't remember things. "GET OUT OF THAT JOB!"

That was, er, 35 years ago. Only "quarter pension", but hey, Barbara was on HEO max, and happy to keep me, and my cars, and my horses, goats, pigs, orphan lambs, Grey Fergie, new Suzuki Quad, and canal cruiser, etc. She even bought me seven and a half acres of mountain grazing in the Swansea Valley. And let me self-build a 2500sq.ft. edifice

She's getting her own back now.

If 602 or anyone thinks they have "lost" a post they have made, then use the "PROFILE" button in the top menu bar.
From here you can see all the posts you have made (most recent at the top) with links to the posts/topics.

No one need "lose" their posts...
... and remember the management reserve the right to move, edit or delete posts as we see fit.
602 - John has his own sub-section, to help keep all his postings in one place... seems this strategy has failed  :thud

Hi Alan,

Oh!  Is there an Idiot's Guide.

I tend not to press buttons unless I have some idea of what is going to happen if I do.

I once set up the two SU carbs on my £200 Daimler V8 (Jag lookalike) the same as as on my 850 Mini. WRONG!  But I didn't know that until I pressed the starter button the following morning. (I had previously over-ridden the starter inhibitor on the gearbox ... for reasons I can't remember now, other than it was the only way to make the starter work).

Instant 2000RPM tick-over. Two black lines chased me down the drive ... in reverse gear.  :agh

Memories from 50-ish years ago say that you wind the throttle choke slow-running screw in until it nips a 2 thou feeler gauge, then give it two more complete turns. This has no effect ... until you pull the choke.

That sweet little (2.5) V8 should be lovely in a Series.... if you can find one.
