PHOTOBUCKET slightly OT
« on: August 08, 2019, 03:03:13 PM »

Hi,

Sorry, I don't seem to have the previous discussion available. Is that how it should be?

Whatever, I've subscribed to PHOTOBUCKET. On entering the site, I'm informed that I'm 37% full, and am presented with about 20 (guessing) of my photos.

So where's the rest? Probably filed under TECHNO-WIMP.

Can anyone comment before I tell Barbara to throw a hissy fit. She is so much better at it.

Hi Fluff,

It knew it was me, displayed a few (very few) of my pictures.

I'll keep working at it.  My LMF requires me to give up at the first hurdle, but strangely, I always come back to it.

Hi,

Cracked it .....

I expected to scroll down. Wrong!

I have to click the little number at the bottom to move to the next page.  :-[

Hi Work,

I clicked that link, got back here.

I clicked it again, was told to contact an administrator.

I'm getting myself into bit of a state, so best if I log off until maybe tomorrow, go and give Wilkie a kicking.

But thanks anyway.

Hi,

I logged (?) onto Photobucket at 05.45hrs.

I found this .... https://s200.photobucket.com/plans/ .... which seems to explain the pricing structure, and what you get for your money. I'm on the INTERMEDIATE (which I think gives me 250,000 images for £6.99 per month). Apparently I'm already 35% full ??? Being a Technowimp, I can only find about a couple of dozen pictures. I'll take an accurate count later.

The last time I used Photobucket, all my pictures were titled, and filed into groups by subject matter. No longer.

"Wilkie, come to Daddy and adopt the position!"

Aaaaaaaaaagh!

Hi,

Well, I seem to be finding more pictures. I've even managed to add titles to those I want to keep ... but how do I delete those that are no longer of interest?

Adding titles? Well, I can do it, slowly, using a system that can't possibly be what their Systems *&%^$-ist intended .... click the wrong box, then work backwards.  :stars I'm hoping that the titles will enable me to put the pics in some sort of meaningful order.

I can foresee their Customer Advisors earning their fee.

I'm also fed up with confirming that "I am me" every couple of minutes

Hi,

Sorry to be hogging this discussion. I won't be offended if my wrist is slapped.

Barbara authorised payment yesterday (In a previous life she was Contracts Manager at DVLA, so is better than I am, at such matters)

This morning I got a snotty email from Photobucket.

I replied in "shirty" (but hopefully) amusing fashion (so they will remember me).

Watch this space.

PS, I can still remember a letter received at DVLC, about 45 years ago....

"Dear Sir, Your computer is sick. I hope it dies. Yours etc."

And now you will remember it too ... for ever.

Hi,

The saga continues. Sorry! I hope others can learn from my adventures.

I have received a reply (of sorts) from Photobucket.

This is an auto-response from Robert, the Photobucket robot, letting you know that we've received your message. You've reached us outside of our normal business hours. Our support team is here to assist you Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm MST (UTC -7).

Can anybody tell me where MST and UTC-7 are, pretty please? I assume they are a long way from GMT and BST?

"Robert"? How formal!
