It was 1955, 34 fatalities and 120.non fatalities.

What was particularly moving for me were the silhouttes of fans watching, derived from a photo taken shortly before and then simulated after crash.

Hi,

Anybody interested in pre-war, and early post war, motor racing should ask for the book "TOUCH WOOD" by Duncan Hamilton, for Xmas (I assume its out of print, so try Ebay) I doubt that it will be cheap, but it's a real life "ripping yarn". DH drove with the Legends ... Moss, Hawthorn, Fangio, etc, but the book goes into minor life details, such as when, while flying a bomber over Burma, he relieved himself into the wrong rubber pipe, got a howl of protest from a wet-eared bomb-aimer.
