Title: More integral hydraulic reservoir mumblings.
Post by: w3526602 on July 25, 2022, 05:57:26 AM
Hi,

Checkout Ebay Reference 392750092582, which is for a master cylinder to fit the Austin Gypsy 4x4, which has INTEGRAL reservoirs. The drawing is dimensioned, and show the reservoir to be perpendicular when fitted.

My researches suggest that the Austin clutch master is 3/4" dia, the same as Land Rover clutch, master, and Land Rover SWB brake master.

The vendor seems uncertain about the suitability of this cylinder for use as a brake master. The only differences I can think of would be the size of the filler caps, and reservoir capacity. The drawing gives that dimension, but I have no idea of the size of the brake master cap. Maybe the clutch and brake master filler caps are identical. ???

Can anybody provide any more detail?

PS, although Series master cylinders sit on a sloping bulkhead, the piston and bore are horizontal. If nothing else, assuming it will fit, this has to be better than fitting an S3 CLUTCH slave to an S2 CLUTCH pedal box.
