OT. Resurrecting Garden Machinery
« on: May 23, 2023, 07:34:22 PM »

The grass is knee high so I had to awaken the large strimmer and the rough ground mower. 4 pulls on the strimmer and its 4 stroke (which uses 2 stroke mix) burst into life and the good old side valve Briggs and Stratton also burst into life on the 30 year old mower after 4 pulls.
The knee high grass and stinging nettles will all be flattered soon.
I walked to the nearby Shell station and filled my jerry can with 5 litres of E5. When I went in to pay I was shouted at as the garage was closed because the credit card set up wasn't working. I had cash as I always carry an emergency £20 in the credit card wallet. The entrance was coned off but I didn't see it as I walked in the exit. I wonder why they didn't cut the pump off when I filled the can.

  Hi Alan

So did they take your hard earned cash or not?
I have been able to buy groceries when the power has gone out over here as they will still take cash, at least till the batteries on the tills run out.

Yes, they could accept cash. It was the attitude of the scrawny person on the till that annoyed me but I couldn't be bothered to argue back.

Very impressed with the DMC cap, in beige of course.
At £15, that would buy an awful lot of rivets.
