Ironically, the wheel boss and spokes look OK so it could probably be sent for professional restoration!

The truck seems in reasonable condition, given it's age, but that steering wheel is definitely a bit ropey.

Seeing as Richards are asking £4k for just a new chassis for an 80", It is pretty good value. The chassis could easily be straighten were dented and the bulkhead will be fine after a quick clean.
I have seen the Land Rovers he gets from Australia and they are solid in comparison with ones that spent their life in this damp country.

I do like the fencing wire steering wheel however....

Same here, bought a 1951 lights through the grill for £2700 in 2010 and sold it for £3500 a few months later after sorting the brakes out. The prices have been climbing ever since, would have been a good investment had I held onto it.

I paid £1000 for an 20k miles 80” in 2009. Sold it in 2016 for £15000 after being in daily use for four years.
