The Odyssey battery on my Series 3 is a starter/deep cycle battery of 850 CCA and 68ah. Current cost at Tayna about £330.00.

Hi Alan,

Thanks for that. With nothing else to go on, I was assuming £10,000 for a full pack of batteries to fill the boot. Your figure seems more attainable.

A 40hp battery powered canal boat motor (I think) is about £5,000. The motor comes with a drive flange to suit a Hardy Spicer. Visions of bolting it to the PTO output of an S2 gearbox .... or over the big hole in the rear cross-member.  :thud  I know nothing about the required controls, nor their cost.

The original 80" 1.6 Land Rover was about 45BHP. I don't know which engines were "First Overland". Somebody here must be able to tell me. ???

I'm still dithering on researching the battery powered Triumph Herald that was featured in some sort of hot rod magazine in UK, I guestimate sometime in the 1980s. The builder seemed quite happy with its daily commuting abilities. "Dear Honest John, please can you ......?"
