Fitted a replacement drivers door in a bit of a hurry to be ready for the drive to Cheddar. A lot better than the multiply repaired original but with more time I'd have done a better job on the door-rubbers, door-check and hinges...and the paint itself.  Interesting to see how the 5-6 year old paint elsewhere has faded after a life outdoors and lots of mud.

The fit was good, a straight replacement. Its a Paintman Panels product.

Watched my speedo roll over to 78000 miles on the way to work this morning.

As for the weekend, I spent a very pleasant two days at the Ardingly showground supporting the club at the Land Rover Social event. I won't spoil things too much as there will be a write up in the next B2L magazine about the show but, lets just say it was very enjoyable and the other members I met there were fantastic. Scott the Kent area club rep did a great job providing a very interesting club display. Like I say, more details to come.  :cheers

Craig.

And I screwed up and double booked myself... Next year then!

Spent this morning gassing with Matt Reeves of the Gwynedd chapter of the S2C. He dropped by and left a large amount of metal on my garage floor in the form of four gearboxes. Good to meet you Matt!

We did briefly touch on the load limits of a small Citroen van and 4 gearboxes + and engine block then decided that its best not discussed any further...

It's a Landy- looks like a coat of yacht varnish and the job's a good'un  :cheers

Maybe some straw stuffed sacks for a bit of padding?

Good to meet you too DW! Agreed the Tardis like capacity of an aging Citroen Dispatch is best glossed over :RHD

At least it's not a Salisbury axle so a relatively easy job.

Brilliant, love this! I made my friend and his new wife sit on blanket covered tarpaulins 🤣

Definitely popular though, another friend asked me for the same at his wedding next year.

Finally got some paint onto the wings and tub. I totally underestimated just how long paint prep takes... :stars

Drove home from the rally via my brother's in Bristol and a pub quiz in Hereford. Uneventful trip apart from a longish holdup approaching the M48 Severn Bridge.
