Warm up your balls please.

Minus 7 here last night. If you have bird feeders with fat-balls or any other fat based food, pop them in the microwave for a few seconds, otherwise only the woodpeckers will get through. The fat sets like concrete.  :tiphat

I have no luck with fat balls, they are never touched here, sun flower seeds go well, perhaps its Welsh birds :wooly-jumper

Sunflower hearts are the seed of choice for our birds as well, they can't get enough.

The sabre-toothed squirrels got all the fat balls here, so I gave up putting them out.

Yes, I should have said its the sunflower hearts here, I buy the 30kg bags,
BUT "my" Squirrels are never seen in the garden in winter, where do they go?
but in spring there back and I leave the food out

Lesson learned the hard way... Don't let fat balls become accessible to a hungry hound. Went through her like a steam train. The clear up wasn't pleasant...
